Gerry Armes one of the Journalists’ Charity’s most prolific fund-raisers has died after a short illness, aged 96.
Gerry was relentless in promoting the welfare of journalists throughout his working life – and well into retirement. In particular, as chairman of the Journalists’ Charity in the Midlands, he was responsible for raising more than £350,000.

Bydd yr enillwyr yn cael eu datgelu yn y cinio gwobrau a gynhelir yng Ngwesty Parkgate Caerdydd nos Wener, 15 Tachwedd.
Bydd manylion sut i brynu tocynnau ar gyfer y gwobrau yn cael eu cyhoeddi maes o law.

Nominations for Wales Media Awards 2024 announced09/09/2024
Finalists for the Journalists’ Charity’s Wales Media Awards 2024 have been announced.
The awards recognise individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and contribution to journalism in Wales in both English and Welsh.
An experienced team of judges comprising senior journalists from Wales and around the UK have judged the entries.
The winners will be revealed at the awards dinner to be held at Cardiff’s Parkgate Hotel on the evening of Friday, 15th November.
Details of how to purchase tickets for the awards will be announced in due course.
