Ofcom Chief Cristina Nicolotti Squires has been elected to the Council of the Journalists’ Charity.
Cristina, who is currently the regulator’s Group Director for Broadcast and Media, spent 35 years as a journalist and held senior broadcast roles before joining Ofcom in 2024.
In a 22-year-long career at ITN, Cristina was Programme Editor of ITV’s flagship News At Ten and the Editor of Channel 5’s news output. In 2017, Cristina joined Sky News as Director of Content where she was responsible for output across TV, online, radio/podcasts and documentaries.
Cristina now leads the regulator’s work to support a healthy and vibrant broadcasting sector across UK TV, radio and video on demand services in an ever changing and fast-moving landscape.
