Former ITV News editor Geoff Hill posthumously given Public Service prize at British Journalism Awards supported by the Journalists’ Charity.
Geoff Hill, the ITV News editor who died in September aged 52, was posthumously given the Public Service Award at the British Journalism Awards 2021.

Founded by Charles Dickens and a fellowship of parliamentary writers in the 1860s the Journalists’ Charity, formerly known as the Newspaper Press Fund, was set up to support the journalists who provided political challenge and scrutiny on behalf of society.

Supporting future talent: a new partnership with the NCTJ20/07/2021
The Journalists’ Charity is excited to announce a new partnership with the National Council for the Training of Journalists aimed at boosting support for journalists and trainees.
Following the recent launch of the first jobs fund – which provides financial assistance to new journalists, the charity is extending its support offer with a donation to the NCTJ’s Journalism Diversity Fund.

Trustees of the Journalists’ Charity have appointed Christine Warwick as the organisation’s new chair.01/06/2021
Christine, who succeeds Ramsay Smith in the role, has spent a long career in and around the media in both newspaper journalism and public relations. Based in Wales, Christine represents the charity’s Welsh committee on the national council of trustees and is actively involved in the organisation of the annual Wales Media Awards.
