The awards will  be showcasing excellence in print, online and broadcast journalism, published or broadcast between 1st June 2024 and 31st May 2025.

Thanks to Sponsors

The Journalists’ Charity is grateful to our sponsors, including Headline Sponsor Allwyn and Support Sponsor Creative Wales, without whose support the Wales Media Awards 2025 would not be possible.

Gillian Taylor, Communications Director at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said:

“We’re delighted to be Headline Sponsor for the second year running, celebrating the very best in Welsh journalism. With over £30 million raised every single week for Good Causes, The National Lottery is at the heart of communities across the UK and benefits millions of people’s lives – just as the Welsh media does every day.

“Thanks to the invaluable support from Welsh journalists since 1994, National Lottery winners are able to share their life-changing news, missing ticket-holders are united with their winnings and a huge range of projects are able to highlight the massive difference they make thanks to vital National Lottery funding.  We very much look forward to celebrating with the finalists and winners on the night.”

The Welsh Government’s Minister for Culture, Jack Sargeant, said:

“Wales is passionate about championing public interest journalism through meaningful engagement and funding initiatives.”

“It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to celebrate the exceptional talent and remarkable achievements that define Welsh media.”

Sponsors and Supporters

The Journalists’ Charity’s annual Wales Media Awards recognise individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to journalism in Wales. This is at a time when a free news media has arguably never been more important in a democratic society.

The Journalists’ Charity is grateful to sponsors and supporters without whose support the Wales Media Awards would not be possible.
