Birmingham through the lens – a JC fundraiser02/04/2024
A book of fascinating news photos by one of the country’s top photojournalists Bernard “Bunny” Hess has raised a further £1,000 for The Journalists Charity.
“Bunny” was regarded as “Mr. Birmingham” and a tribute in the Birmingham Mail said he “captured Brum like no other news photographer”.

Wales Media Awards raise £9k for JC08/12/2023
The Journalists’ Charity’s Wales Media Awards 2023 have raised more than £9,000 to help journalists in need.
The event, held in Cardiff’s Parkgate Hotel on November 10, was attended by 200-plus guests from across the industry in Wales and the rest of the UK.

Star studded Scottish lunch raises thousands for JC.16/11/2023
The Scottish media turned out in force on Friday October 20 to celebrate journalism in Scotland and to raise funds for the Journalists’ Charity.
Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart performed a live version of their hit podcast ‘The Rest is Politics’ to a crowd of more than 350 journalists, politicians, and other leading figures from across Scotland.

Wales Media awards 202315/11/2023
BBC International Editor Jeremy Bowen and the group of journalists who exposed a culture of misogyny and sexism in the Welsh Rugby Union were among the winners of the Journalists’ Charity’s Wales Media Awards 2023.
Jeremy Bowen won the headline Outstanding Contribution to Journalism award in recognition of his 40-year career reporting on conflicts from around the world.
