Star studded Scottish lunch raises thousands for JC.

4 April, 2025

The Scottish media turned out in force on Friday April 4 to celebrate journalism in Scotland and to raise funds for the Journalists’ Charity.

Harriet Harman, Ruth Davidson and Beth Rigby performed a live version of their podcast ‘Electoral Dysfunction’ to a crowd of more than 350 journalists, politicians, and other leading figures from across Scotland.

The fundraising lunch, which returned to the Radisson Blu in central Glasgow, raised thousands of pounds for the Journalists’ Charity and was generously supported by Sky News.

The charity’s CEO James Brindle said:

”An event of this size and scale is a fantastic reflection of the industry in Scotland with such a large number of journalists turning out to show their support.

Scottish Chair Gill Smith has done a terrific job of leading this fundraiser at a time when journalism has never been more important and neither has our support offer.”
