I look forward to joining the charity at a time when it is looking at how it can evolve to support the ever changing needs of journalists working in an increasingly challenged – and challenging – industry. It is absolutely essential journalism doesn’t force out those who struggle financially. For the UK media to flourish we need journalists from every kind of background to tell stories which truly reflect our country.’
