The original musical score to the hit animated Christmas classic ‘The Snowman’ has been donated to the Journalists’ Charity as part of its fundraising auction.
The piece by composer Howard Blake was written to accompany the 1982 adaptation of Raymond Briggs’ children’s book and features the festive favourite ‘Walking in the air.’
The signed score will be accompanied by a hand written note from the composer when it’s put up for auction in the new year – with all proceeds going to support journalists struggling through tough times. The charity’s festive auction is currently attracting bids on a range of items, including a personalised oil painting by renowned artist Gail Graham and a day in James Bond’s original Aston Martin.
